Our weekend started out rainy and cold (41 degrees to be exact). Even so, it was a great day because Josh had the day off from work! Every few months, we get family day together and because they are few and far between, we really go for it (last time we took a ferry day trip)! We decided to be good parents and take Sky to the All Fools’ Day Parade and Basset Bash so he could ooooh and ahhhh at fire trucks, music, and of course, lots and lots of basset hounds! He LOVED IT and was a happy camper up until it got close to naptime. I think the watermelon dum dum he got also helped greatly – it’s amazing how big of a smile a tiny little sucker can produce.
{Meet Mr. Bunny – I found him at the Goodwill for $1.99 – happy!}
The rest of the weekend was spent preparing for Easter – we decorated the mantel and Sky had his first Easter egg dying experience. We ended up with a lot of cracked eggs the color of barf the rainbow but he had a good time moving eggs from cup to cup. Josh and I also watched a documentary called The Bridge – a disturbing look at the high rate of suicides (more than any other bridge anywhere) that happen by people jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. Besides being really creepy, it’s actually kind of morbidly fascinating. For one year, they filmed the bridge daily and captured 23 out of the 24 plunges to death, in addition to filming friends and family members of those who jumped. I thought for sure I wouldn’t want to watch it but was quickly sucked in. Good choice Josh!
Weird weekend huh?! Poring down rain parade, Easter fun, and a documentary about suicide. Hmm.
How was your weekend?
