About once a year, I get an Ikea craving. I make my list, excitedly make the hour+ drive to the only Washington store, find about half of what I was looking for, have some meatballs, and drive back home feeling satisfied but always a little defeated at how different things look online vs. in person. The older I get, the more I’m looking for quality and sturdiness, and while some Ikea products do last forever, most don’t. You just have to pick wisely because when it’s good, it’s really good. But when it’s bad….it’s bad. This hasn't seemed to stop me from still being excited about new arrivals and coveting a few things here and there.
If I could go to Ikea RIGHT NOW, here’s what I would buy:
Strandmon Wing Chair. Ok people, how can you not love this chair?! It’s a steal at $279, it’s a little retro, a little funky, and comes in my favorite upholstery color of the moment, gray. I think it would look just right next to our vintage 70’s fireplace.
Annamoa Fabric. I’ve had a crush on this fabric ever since I saw it here. It could be used for so many things but I’m currently thinking of making nursery curtains for baby #2. So colorful and I love the big bold print!
Lidan Basket. I have a thing lately for soft storage. These would be great in the bathroom for sorting medicine or makeup.
Rattan poufs. These poufs are very comfortable and they are only $29.99. They have been on my “wish list” for YEARS. How silly is that? For a long time, they were out of stock…and then disappeared from the website all together! Now, they are back and I couldn’t be happier. I will most definitely be purchasing at least 2.
Step Stool. Last time I went to Ikea, this stool was out of stock so I can’t forget to pick one up next time I go. You can never have too many stools with toddlers around.
Kitchen Cart. I think this cart would be PERFECT for kid’s art supplies. Our collection of crayons, markers, play-doh, and paint is steadily growing and I love that I could keep everything in one place and wheel it out of the way when it’s not in use.
What would you pick out if you went to Ikea today?
